2024 Released Players & City transfer rumours

I'm not sure what other posters post on here would drive anyone away the ones saying they won't renew are taking that stance not because of other posters views but because in some cases they don't like the people at the top and in other cases they are not happy with what they are seeing with regards the strength of the present squad.
Contrary to what some seem to think some I'd be delighted to see several "marquee signings" but IMO with the squad we now have with the likes of Pattison, Young, Sarcevic and Wright returning those sort of signing are not a must, many including myself thought the Smallwood signing fell into the marquee category and was I disappointed with regards what we'd got for our brass I expected him to dominate midfield similar to a Gary Jones or Romain Vincelot had done in the past maybe it was the players around Gary and Romain that made them comfortable in midfield.

 

Chill out you'll have a heart attack, you seem to be the ONLY poster to come to that conclusion @JudgeMental and myself have had several honest debates with regards him not renewing and he hasn't thrown a petty strop like you when asked why he's wont be renewing he even has a pet name for me Ultra, your becoming boring going over and over the same "your happy with mediocracy" comments, we get it your an uber fan who's not happy with promises not being kept and will show your distain by not renewing, where as I'm doing as I've always done and BACKED MY CLUB .

 

Absolutely I don’t think we will go up and I think there are 8 teams better than us (9th finish). The bets still on.

 

I'm not sure being in the mix for the play offs is acceptable at this level if I'm honest. I think the absolute minimum should be in the automatic promotion mix and if we fall short then the play offs lottery is the consolation.

 

If people don’t want to renew it’s up to them there are plenty that do and have. If the team do well they will probably pay on the gate if they are interested enough.
Unlike a lot of other clubs this one doesn’t charge extortionate prices when not at City I have started watching Scarborough but it would cost me more to buy a season ticket there

 

I'd prefer your first option, but if not I'd take our chances in the play off lottery rather than a season that is finished in February.

 

Absolutely, there's no argument with that and I suppose the disappointment is that it doesn't feel like the club shares the aim at present.

Not sure what friendlies we've have arranged in Austria but God help us if we don't get a positive result out there, of course I'd prefer winning every pre season friendly getting a winning mentality is a good thing, after last season and seeing how well MK Dons played (attacking wise) I think we could have had a more favourable opening fixture than at their place but then we thought last seasons opening game at Crawley was an ease in game, that went well.

We did but as we know the result was not a reflection on the actual game MK Dons had 71.9% possession that night, we've cursed our own players in the passed for missing so many chances in games last season but their forwards were wayward to say the least with regards their finishing, their manager was more than happy they continued to play that style, where as we would be screaming why doesn't Alexander change things.

I considered not renewing (about 30 seconds), I haven't been to an away match for a few years and I didn't always make the effort I could last season by not checking my diary for when home matches fell before agreeing to something else, but Bradford City is in my DNA and I really wouldnt want to have to trot up on the day and sit with strangers.

Without VP I'd be lost and miserable, even when the football makes me miserable, because even in the depths of despair there are always lighter moments and joyous moments that make being a Bradford City fan worth the effort.

Roll on the 10th August and that constant cycle of hope being battered into despair.
