Certainly does, we had it with Parky under our last ownership we were certainly far from big spenders. Unfortunately it’s a rare thing to have a manager who can carry a club so much.

 

It's very, very difficult to find someone who can run a club and be a good fit at a particular club because even good managers and good players fail quite a bit as well if the conditions aren't right or it just doesn't click.

That's why it's absolutely vital that the people running the club have a vision of their own, one that supercedes that of every passing manager/player. Having some sort of vision also narrows the focus on the type of manager/player you might want to bring in in order to give them best chance of 'clicking' even if they are still going to take over most of the operations for the duration of their stay.

No matter how long we spend without such a vision or plan, and no matter how long we fail to achieve anything without a vision or a plan, you'll still find people pretending we don't need one lol and it's just some sorta lottery of managers.

So naive and myopic.

I think it's too early to say, but I understand your position.

I massively overestimated us last season under Hughes, I think GA will get us to 10th or so as an absolute minimum. I think if we were to match last season's final league position or improve on it we're going to need 2 really high quality signings, even if they're just kids on loan who happen to be a class above.

I'm hearing a bit of consternation about the level of signings other clubs are making. Some of made a few good signings - but nobody has blatantly gone out and snapped up swathes of top quality players, either.

 

Is 'there abouts' good enough? Play offs or top 3?

 

A lot of posters making assumptions how next season will play out, let’s just look at the facts,
Fact number one, a ball has not been kicked yet in the league. I will guarantee that there will be many twists and turns before any team ends up in it’s final position

I'm not fooling anyone, as I've posted after 65 years I cant see myself not attending Bradford City games home or away when I can make it, you've said many times you'll not return until both Rupp and Sparks are out of the club the owners have never been a major concern over the time I've supported our club and as a long standing fan yourself I dont understand why all of a sudden this owner does, our last owners were hardly rolling in money although they did fund the club the best they could, the difference being as we all know Phil Parkinson used all monies available to strengthen the first team squad.
So don't you go worrying about old Bronco because when Bradford City have a game I'll be there until for whatever reason I can't attend as they say CTID.

 

Spot on Jon and you made my point for me as I was too shattered last night to write more, but essentially we can't rely on getting another Parky as it is as likely to happen as Andy winning the Euros and wasting it on buying the club lol.

 

I've put us down for a top 7 finish (I've actually got a bet on it) I'm not as disheartened as some with regards our signings so far as I've posted we've got Pattison, Young and resigned Wright I believe there will be more coming in possibly as Alexander said loans but before a ball has been kicked I fancy us to be in the promotion mix again, I'm certainly not going to write us off with regards a few results in pre season friendlies.

Talking about Rocket I've not seen him posting on here for several weeks hope all good his end.

 

We wernt in the promotion mix last season.

 

I think the worry is we’ve been here for 6 years now and you kind of get a feeling for what’s needed and where needs strengthening.
