Mid table.... Thus far I've seen no improvement in the recruitment. Sharpe has said players need to leave to get any more in and it will take a couple of seasons to sort that out. Well done Ryan Sparks & Stephen Gent.

So I have no expectations other than another sh!t show of a season. And another season in league 2 for 25/26

 

Agree with this. From what Sharpe said today our recruitment has been so bad previously that it’s going to take a year to sort out and move on the dross and free up budget.

Looking at the squads in L2 next year we’ll probably finish in mid table.
I’m guessing that it’ll be somewhere between 8th and 12th.

 

Somewhere around 9th-12th at the minute. Seems like we have like for liked in most positions with the new faces, debatable if any are upgrade though. Although I don't really ever buy into how the season before ended, all that nonsense trying to carry on good form.

Only really a thing if you do well, if you lose your last 4 you say "ignore that, seasons over now".... if you win it's "we can kick on where we left off". If you replace your entire starting CBs (which we might well do) you have to pretty much start from scratch again building relationships that start from back to front. Add to that new faces in midfield and its getting your spine to create some flow from scratch. First 6-8 games are massive so it's really hard to say until they are in the bag and we start getting some flow.

 

As it stands with recruitment, I predict 9th

I think 7th and up via playoffs, but I agree with Jordan that there will bit of storming and norming before they start performing, so might be a sticky start.

defensive recruits would boost my faith.

Love to know how they think Salford are suddenly a top half side after losing their best players and bringing in Cole Stockton, who is beginning to look like another one season wonder. The 35 year old James Chester into defence and a career backup keeper in Jamie Jones. Not screaming out a massive jump from 20th place so far....

 

I predicted 8th to 9th last season, missing just out on play off spots

This year, Champion's. The nucleus of a very good team exists. A little bit more at the back and a back up keeper, we really are good to go.

 

I understand this as there is 40 odd days before the window closes. I have absolutely no doubt that further recruitment will occur

 

Think around 7-10th, I've gone playoffs but lose. Ultimately I think the defensive recruitment this season will be our downfall and cost us a number of leads this season. Shame as we have a decent attack and midfield.

 

I picked autos last time, too, I really thought we'd push on under Hughes.

I'm not prepared to make a prediction at this point, though.
