Are we going to see a second homecoming?

I was 15, watched it at home with mum and grandparents.
Channel 4 are showing a re-coloured version at 4:30 this afternoon

 

I was ten. I was away at a cub and scout camp in Rotterdam, so listened to it on the radio.

 

I'd be amazed if we win tomorrow. Not that I doubt the squad; ours is every bit as good as theirs, but Southgate doesn't know how to win. It'll be the ae forward line and chronic lack of pace in behind, in a game where its perfect for that sort of threat to be deployed.

Would love to be wrong on this, but Southgate is the biggest issue in our way.

Oh I'll be hoping. And part of me thinks, 'it must be out turn at some point'. I just don't see it. He hasn't once won a major game as an underdog, not done anything notable tactically to win such a game. Let's hope for it though. Come on England!

Listened to the final on the beach near Padstow.

There were some Germans on the beach as well.

A good day was had by all.

I was 11 and still remember the crushing feeling when Germany equalised.
All turned out well though.
56 years later and not another win and people wonder why I can't get too excited nowadays.
Always hope for the best but don't be too crushed when it doesn't happen for you.

I think England are doomed already based on that lineup. You don't play a back 3 against Spain, and no out ball in behind will see Spain completely dictate the game and England unable to get out.

 

Its clear that Kane needs to be off for Watkins, bit Southgate doesn't have the balls to do it until we go behind, at which point Spain will sit deeper.

Pickford hasn't had a huge amount to do, but Spain are in control, and everything about that half shows Southgate up for the limited manager he is

 

Get Bellingham off, he offers nothing, he doesn't play for the team and drifts around the attack line just getting in the way.
