Loan signing agreed with parent club and player, just waiting for the club to clinch an incoming transfer for themselves before they will allow him to sign for us.

GA hoping to have him onboard before trip to Austria next week.

No hint of players identity or club involved.

 

No hint of a name, is exactly how it should be.
If it falls through, and its a good possible signing, many on here would moan like hell and blame city and you do not want to alert other teams ,who might have an interest.

 

From the fact that the parent club are waiting to bring a player in before releasing this player on loan, I think that it is probably someone from League 1 rather than the championship or Premier league.

 

I was thinking Championship or league 1 myself.

 

Thought the same but I still think it will be cheap loan who is relatively young and experienced. I reckon the hesitation around releasing is numbers for trainning at the parent club.

 

Or could just as easily be a vastly experienced player who (like McDonald & Oliver) is no longer required as part of their plans, but needs to play.

 

Thinking similar. The fact that the parent club need to sign someone first, tells me it's not a young kid who'd be on the fringes at best anyway. If you're a champ club and you are sending someone to L2, 99.9% sure that he would be in the first team plans, enough to beed replacing anyway.

 

Leeds just announce Joe Rodon. Wonder if its one of their defenders we are bringing in on loan?

 

I reckon that it’s going to be that LWB from
Leeds who we keep getting linked with. Connor Ferguson? Which makes no sense really unless Richards is moving on.

 

It was always going to be a youth loan.

 

We need better than Richards if we are aiming for promotion and Wright doesn't cut it at LWB, an actual LWB makes sense definitely.

 

Not from a numbers perspective it doesn’t. GA has gone on record about wanting a smaller squad so that doesn’t tally with us carrying three LWBs.
Whether we like it or not we know that Wright is going to be first choice in that position.
Like I say if one comes in then surely Richards will be moving on.

 

I do hope GA has something up his sleeve in terms of Centre Half.
It seems strange the calibre of centre halves we have, bar stubbs, when the rest of the team are top end league 2 players.
Maybe we have a youth player ready to step up or maybe we're confident of getting a quality CB on loan.
Johnson and Byrne are 50/50 for me, Johnson fitness wise and Byrne dependant on if he can keep a regular place.
Baldwin on paper is a strange signing.
Despite a bit of doom and gloom on here recently, a convincing centre half would definitely make most of us confident. Then you just want competition for Cook and Sam Walker.

 

Agree 100%.

I worry that we are well stacked in that position and therefore won’t be bringing another one in but we really do need to sign one with pace IMO.
