One player I didn't see at Chorley or on the requested player on twitter was Kevin MC Donald unless someone knows different he's not around.

Or they brought them in because they were cheap, available and another body to fill a gap while we continued searching for other footballers that would play for magic beans?

Looks to me like you've already formed your opinion, without seeing them play

 

The base of the Squad is from last season who after Alexander was appointed showed play off form with the addition of Sarcevic and the availability of Young and Pattison it’s clear we have improved those areas. We wait and see if we are good enough defensively but people have called for a head of football and at least two of the defenders signed are his signings

 

Byrne was a success at Hartlepool and then was signed for a successful manager for the third time and with a fee for Tranmere. I wager there are plenty of players in the league below that could vp cut in the league

But then you can't say they are good signings because you haven't seen them play. Make your mind up!

 

Most players come on free transfers in League Two not sure what their salaries are but many have argued in the past the likes of Smallwood, Oliver, Walker and the goal machine wouldn't come cheap.

 

So that applies to every team in the league with new signings

You've already stated that you thought they were good signings so no, you aren't waiting and have already formed an opinion yet still wanted to shoot me down for mine.

 

The hypocrisy always raises a giggle. Not one person has pulled me up on saying Sarcevic is a good signing despite me having never really seen him play either. I've formed an opinion based on his history and what I've read online.

Yet whenever there is a post an opinion that is construed as even slightly negative it's always fully challenged and we clearly can't use his history and take other people's opinion on board as we've "not seen him play".

 

Personally I would take the opinion of the head of recruitment and manager over yours

 

You probably said the same 12 months ago when we signed Ash Taylor - how badly did they get that wrong? McDonald, Oliver, Odusina, etc etc etc.

The club, manager, and whoever is part of the recruitment team have failed for 5 consecutive summers with the remit of building a side capable of promotion.

Forgive us for having our reservations....

But wasn’t they all Sparks signings we have a head of recruitment now. The panacea

 

By this mantra no manager would ever use a player not signed by his recruitment team cos he hasn't personally seen them play. I get the point about waiting to see how they play with your own eyes but there are other ways to judge how potentially good a player can be for you, their track record a very good indicator as is the opinions of people who've seen them play before. It's why I'm still unsure about the recruitment of our centre backs, one whether we like it or not part of the worst defence in the league and another at the age of 31 has played a season or so of what we class as league football.
