Surely Walker could have played the whole game, and maybe have a youth player on the bench?

I don’t think anyone is ‘upset’ but we haven’t scored against a part time team despite fielding strong lineups in each half.
You’re right though, we’ll wait for the usual excuses after we get turned over at MK just like we had last season after Crawley.

I'll take a point now from our opening game at MK Dons, there aren't many harder opening fixtures.

 

I can understand this sentiment, i suppose as well as a fitness builder we should never forget games like this put some invaluable funds into clubs further down the football ladder and most fans go to this type of preseason friendly knowing what to expect

The only games that matter are the league games. Couldn't care less about the pre season results as they don't count other than for the history books.

 

I imagine Chorley decided the admission fee, given they were at home!

 

If Pattison & Walker were on fire and still couldn't score against a side lower down the pyramid than us, it doesn't look good for the season ahead.

We play away friendlies at smaller clubs so they benefit financially while we train.

They aren't gonna let City fans in for fre.

 

I believe your reading far too much into a pre season friendly my friend, a ball hasn't been kicked in anger as yet you come to that conclusion, I'm a little more optimistic but you've already nailed your colours to the mast so I really wouldn't expect anything else from yourself whilst Rupp & Sparks are anything to do with the club.

 

Good listen as it seems we are preparing for the season far more focussed than I can recall in our recent history.

Lots of focus on fatiguing the players to help them get fitter and have more stamina. Let's see if it converts to better performances on the pitch.

Anyone on here who is into sports science-how does fatiguing the players help with fitness?

 

When do England start playing properly, they're definitely in friendly mode still+

 

This is by no means praise with regards England performances as they have been poor, but I do think yesterdays performance was an improvement on Sundays game against Slovakia.

 

It was a very VERY low bar to be fair.

 

I cant disagree but I don't think we need fear the Netherlands, we haven't shown anything with regards constancy in any of our games so far yet we have only conceded 3 goals in open play if we can get the attacking side of our game sorted we could get to the final and then its down to who performs on the day.

 

I did try to reply as tactfully as I could.

 

Instead of the home non-league teams charging admission (money nobody should begrudge them), maybe they should be allowed to sell City loyalty points at a price of their choosing. Win-win for the other team and our Uber loyal fans
