Can't say would be a fan of moving to Keighley tbh but that is purely from my own perspective travelling etc, but I suppose nowhere is going to suit every single fan

I just cannot see the current hierarchy moving us away from VP. It is the easiest option to suit their ambitions

 

I don't know the answer, just floating it out there.... But would Odsal pass EFL stadium regulations in its current state? Given it hast been updated in a generation.

Odsal is far worse than it was in our time there, there would not be a hope in hells chance of it passing an EFL test. If we play brinkmanship with Gibb I would guess we would be like Coventry were and play quite a distance away, somewhere like Barnsley or Rotherham as I suspect Leeds or Huddersfield wouldn’t entertain us.

The absolute traffic mess between the Aire Valley Rd end, through the edge of Keighley, past the rugby ground was appalling last week even outside rush hour . I wouldn’t see it accommodating traffic to cater for a 2k crowd. Desperation stakes.

I had to smile with regards his comment about someone who could do better than he has, sorry Stefan your record as owner is shocking from a team challenging for the Championship to a team that has been around the bottom end of League Two bar the last two season, overall I thought a descent interview only time will tell but him accepting the criticism was good to hear.

 

I very much doubt the FA would allow football to be played at Odsal without major investment, and although Stefan is sounding positive in this interview I very much doubt he would be prepared to sink that type of money into Odsal Stadium mate ?.

 

Moving to The Shay isn't going to happen. Whilst Calderdale Council is a 'motivated seller' they have two sitting tenants in Town and the Panthers.
It won't look good to sell to us and kick out the town's two clubs.
And running all three clubs at the same venue certainly won't work. The Shaymen had to play their final home games of last season at Accrington and Chesterfield due the atrocious state of The Shay pitch.
With the Panthers playing through the summer there isn't a chance to tear up the pitch and replace it.

 

Having watched City up at Odsal back in the years after the fire I can categorically say I would never ever want to go back there to watch City.

 

Bradford is a strange place in that most major cities around the world grow organically from the centre, usually a river. The centre of Bradford is on the edge of the metropolitan district and as such any stadium built towards Keighley is more central to the area but just wouldn't work for geographical and logistical purposes.

 

Not sure but Keighley's pitch looks very small. Would it meet the minimum requirements for the EFL?

 

Yea I agree, the bottleneck past the retail park has always been abysmal, and is even worse now

I wonder, realistically, what the cost of a new 25-30000 stadium would be…£40-50m including the land purchase perhaps?

 

Consertively double that i'd suggest. York City's 8500 seater stadium cost +£45M when built in 2021
