New Kits 2024/25

It’s very smug marketing. Thinking they are being smart and mysterious. How about actually explaining why it’s a “retro thing”? Even that tag line - along with “bantams thing” is a bit cringe. How about explaining why the away kit is being launched before the home one? I bet they are annoyed that the “tartan Messi “ or whatever they call him, has pissed on their chips.

 

They're at serious risk of underwhelming a lot of people. After all this build up, if it's not made of the purest silk woven with 24 karate gold, and including a free 1970s 911 Porsche with every purchase, then I'm not buying one.

I wouldn't have been anyway, but that's not the point.

 

It's the same every year. They could all play in a brown wooly swimming costume for me, I don't care! The only thing that matters is that they bloody well perform this season and get out of this Godforsaken league at the 6th/7th time of asking (whatever it is!) Kits are only really remembered in years when the team achieves. If they don't, they become irrelevant and easily forgotten, like those who wore them

One crap teaser saying released this week would have been enough. Three crap teasers suggests someone has a lot of time on their hands . Even Real Madrid don’t make this big a deal of releasing an away kit It’s a shirt some people want to buy it just show it stop making a big deal out of it.

There was a photo posted on twitter the other day, very quickly deleted. Looked like a real shirt rather than a mock up, all amber, no central badge. Might have been someone taking the piss, looked real though

 

All this nonsense will be a result of last years kits doing so badly, unable to accept the designs were terrible (I’d bet good money vertical stripes with no daft collar would have sold out by now) they are now desperately over marketing.

I don't believe the old adage "any marketing is good marketing" is applicable anymore. Not when people are getting fed up about things. In this day and age, you're always a click away from being unfollowed if the consumer doesn't connect with your campaign. Maybe "fed up" is a bit extreme when it comes to this marketing as its been three teasers, but from what I've seen/read on Socials, its run it's course now and time to let the punters see the shirt.
