I doubt if we finished 22nd in League Two, we'd be saying ANYONE was capable of playing up a division.

Some seemed to think Paudie wasn't even good enough for L2, let alone L1, where he might yet end up.

Shows the difference in the level of positivity at Barrow!

I did read on their on forum a funny comment that Platt had been at the club through what had been a few tough seasons. But then I related it to what has been said on here, maybe it would be better for Barrow to get relegated so they can play in a division where they can win more games so their players can feel like they've had a better season than at a struggling league 2 side.

That O'Brien guy who played in our last relegation team can't have been very good.

Very funny. Not. You keep on canvassing for Vernham to leave and talking down our potential. It suits you better than sarcasm

You have a very unique take on things sometimes. I'd rather Vernam stay but I'm also realistic about the club I support. As for potential I've watched us for over 40 years. Only once have we ever had potential and that was with Big Geoff going crazy with the cheque book. It was that cheque book that was the potential, nothing else.

And our manager getting the signings right. Even the one that supporters said was a dud turned out brilliantly as it gave our cleverest but laziest player a big kick up the bum which made him one of the top players in the division.

Not bothered one bit about this one. He comes across as one of them players who goes through the motions and doesn't give a toss if we win, lose or draw. Just watch his interviews post game, the lad doesn't care.

Fair enough if he backs it up on the pitch but I'm glad we don't have to watch him punt the ball into touch anymore. There's better out there at this level who can do everything Platt does

Perfect ... a 26yo leaves no doubt to be replaced by another 30 something journeyman. We do need a reasonable defence and not just a fantastic "dad's army" midfield. I hope Sharpe and GA know what they are doing.

I have a simple mindset that hasn't changed over years.

If they don't want to play for BCAFC and give 100% for the cause.

We move them on, get as much money (or save as much) as we can of course.

There can be no exceptions to this. (IMHO)

Can’t agree with that. I don’t think he ever let the side down and gave 100% on the pitch. He’s naturally a quiet lad and probably having accepted average wages at Barrow and ourselves, you can hardly blame him for trying to make a few extra quid. As I’ve said before I didn’t think he’d get a league one club, so getting the best deal for him in league two is good for him. We obviously didn’t offer him enough to stay or value him high enough to want to stretch the budget. Walker would have probably done the same if we hadn’t triggered the extra year.

The lad never let us down and never gave less than 100%. It clearly looks like Notts County came in with a better contract offer. Just because he's quiet doesn't mean he doesn't care. Good luck to him going forward.

We lost 1 of the last 14 league games he played for us. Those sort of stats don't tend to happen with players that don't care.

Whatever we think of any of them individually that's Platt, Taylor, Oyegoke, Tomkinson, Ridehalgh, Odusina and Wadsworth gone or told to look elsewhere for their employment. It will be interesting to see who we bring in after Neill Byrne.
