“ Excited about an ambition” , utter, utter gaslighting!

 

Lets hope he hits the ground running , non of the usual time to gel nonsense .

 

They tried. He didn't want a 1 year contract.

 

It’s also a gaslighting way to appease the fans….. Offer a low contract so the player is
“ forced” to move . “ We offered, he turned it down”

 

He was, and I'm not saying I have an issue with this signing. I'm just saying I want us to generally be signing younger players. We've had far more misses than hits when it comes to signing players who are around the 32/33 mark, looking for their last contract.

 

This is true we don't own it and the 3 year lease is more like a 5 year lease as we've been there a few years.

Carrington (is a place) is where united train. Think the training grounds are 10/15 minutes away but ours is where Manchester City won there first Premier league. And while we are pretty much renting it we are still upgrading it. No idea really what the difference is to make it a championship standard but that's what all the players say and even all the ex Premier league players we've had on trial while they keep the fitness up. Quite a few of uniteds youth players come train there too to introduce them into the men's surroundings.

Our owner did an interview last week (it's a really good watch) and he explains that he's bought some land in Stockport and he's wanting us to build a new men's training facility on it and also have the academy train there too. So the training ground will only get better in the next 3-5 years.

Is there any talk of you moving to some better facilities or building your own place?

 

No not at all. Rupp (owner) is trying to negotiate and buy VP back. The rent is seriously holding us back 1/2 million a season atm, and runs out in 2027/28 I think. Our facilities are good tbh. It is owned by a private school and they have been more than happy to accommodate us. Yes they could be better but we don’t have the financial’s to build anything yet, so you are well ahead on that front.

 

When you say better facilities, what does that mean? This is what I was getting at when I asked the question about what makes Stockport's facilities championship level. You won't know this but our training facilities are constantly poo pooed by a number of our fans, but I've yet to hear one person actually say what it is we need that we don't already have at Woodhouse Grove, and equally, you don't seem able to say what it is that makes your training facilities as good as they are.

 

If he performs anything like Gary Jones I'll be happy, maybe now Sharpe is at the club we will try and bring our average players age down but as we know over the years we've had a few well into their 30s who out performed the younger players.

Also let’s hope for once a player with a big reputation and of proven quality isn’t another in a long line of players that BCAFC ruin. We have had soooo many false promises over the years, it’s only fair we start getting a bit of luck

 

It's hard to really say because there isn't loads of photos or detail. But when we sign players it is something that they all seem to mention is the training ground

No it was a comment made by our Stockport friend …he made a statement bragging about having a championship quality training facility …. Utter b/ s as it turned out! Read the link, comparing it to WHG!

 

It magically became an issue when our poor form hit weird that from 2012 to 2017 ot was never a problem.

You would think that they trained on a pee poor putch when the reality is that the facilties aint that bad ............. i will put decent money on that a fair few clubs at our level train at far worse places.

To me its just a weak excuse to try and justify how crap we have been

 

Honestly looking at that, I think what we have is just as good if not better.

I would’ve thought BPA’s ground would be absolutely ideal for us to train on. Surely they could come to a mutual agreement. But what do I know
