Really pleased with this signing. A great addition to our midfield and has the leadership qualities I think we really need in that engine room.

 

This is true, we did change the 11 quite alot but I can promise you it was not by choice. Our injurys last season were awful.

Rydel - first 6 games then injured for rest of season
Stretton - misses entire season
Southam Hales - unfortunately injury prone and is out until November (ooc but been offered new deal but don't think he will play for us again unfortunately)
Pye - missed 6 weeks
Touray - missed 1 month
Knoyle - bleed on the brain missed a month
Croasdale - played through a hernia injury for months then got surgery and missed the end of the season
Sarcevic - missed a month
Powell - injury prone up until Christmas
Wright - injured for most of the 2nd half of season
Collar - played 20 games and then got injured and never fully recovered
Wootton - missed pre season due to an injury from last season
Barry - acl injury in November time and came back with 4 games to go
Hippolyte - both knees seemed to go. The 2nd after he recovered from the same injury on the other leg
Knight - signed in January but only made the bench 2 times due to injury
Madden - I think missed 2 or 3 weeks
Kane - came in in January played 2 games and never seen again due to injury
Bristow - was out for about a month
Olaofe - got injured with 3 games to go

I think we counted we had minimum 6 players out injured for over 38 games of the season. It was honestly incredible

 

Wouldn’t be surprised to see Oduor and McDonald leave and Gilly used as a utility player or even as the back up for Halliday at RWB.

very good signing even if not but please say he’s a set piece expert.

 

Pretty sure he takes set pieces, both free kicks and corners.

Maybe @Mat.scfc can tell us more? At one point, I think Stockport fans weren't overly enamoured with him taking set pieces, but honestly I just think that's the burden of a regular taker.

I don’t think it matters, he can’t possibly be any worse than Smallwood at corners and free kicks. I lost count how many games over the season he wasted good chances

 

I’ve yet to see a negative comment about the lad. It’s like he is too good to be true lol

Pattison has been here nearly 12 months and it’s still unusual for it to be spelled right.

He can take them. Would I say he was our best set piece players? No, but can he put the ball into the box more often than not - yes. We were one of the top goalscorers from set pieces although it felt like we didn't score many because early on we seemed to do the same thing over and over again. Cross the ball to the back post and then our biggest threat would head it back across goal (was told too) instead of into the back of the net

I don't think he scored a free kick during his time here but he'd normally take the side free kicks while other players would take the central (more shoot-able) free kicks

 

If he beats the first man or doesnt Twit it straight of play it will be a upgrade for starters.

Get him in early and it could help other targets to make up their mind much quicker than we have seen in the past.

 

I definitely think it will help sell the club to others. You can imagine the pitch of "took a while to get it right but a great last run, nearly got in the playoffs, just need a bit more quality to get up automatically, Sarcevic is convinced and has signed, why don't you join and help get us promoted"
