Positives of season (23-24’)

    So the season has been a disappointment and failure, let’s get that out of the way. Playoffs should have been a minimum expectation. However what are the positives that have come from it?

    I’ll start with (IMO):
    - Graham Alexander: I’m surprising myself saying it based on my frustrations with him at times. However think in the runs we have had (good and bad form) he has shown enough nouse to push us on next season

    - David Sharpe: finally we’ve shown signs of progression off field bringing different skills into the club

    - Halliday, Pointon and Jamie Walker: all quality and very good standard to build a challenging side on for next season

    - Andy Cook: again I’ve been critical but goal and assist return as a follow up to last season only deserves praise

    - new signings: Sam Walker and Kavanagh look shrewd business and think it’s fair have returned on their investment since Jan

    - end of the season: the final run in since Harrogate gives some indications of potential, formation and tactics and players mentality that we can be consistent and find performances and results to be more of a challenge

    - owner and CEO: they FINALLY spoke up. More importantly now, let’s see the actions.

    Sharpe is the main one for me.

    Nowt is guaranteed of course but it feels the club was forced to wake up a bit.

    These last 6 games don’t mask what was a pretty forgettable previous 40 games.

    Least we are sustainable and we dont put up with mediocrity:)

    Pointon and Halliday apart from that its been shockingly bad

    Thats what bothers me and folk at the top look at the bigger picture rather than our good run when the pressure was off

    Exactly.

    We made an absolute mess of this season.

    However, at least the end of the season can give a bit of confidence that we will be better next season. Took a while but GA got a team playing and winning. A few upgrades should see us being very competitive next season.

    Let's be honest, despite the late rally, it's been a poor season. And there's much needed to get this club moving forward. The first step in solving any problem, is identifying what it is.
