I take it you haven't seen the inconsistency of City this season ? Alexanders tinker tactics and his inability to beat teams who are destined for non-league has cost us this season... Imagine the games we should have won.. Forest Green and Grimsby we would have been right up there even if we do win the next 3 games its Donny that are going to take that last spot.. Season was over after the Forest Green defeat.

I still think Hughes would have got us in the play offs this season, stupid Spuds sacking him to massage his ego...

 

Hughes wouldn’t have got us in the playoffs, he’d lost that energy and drive after the Carlisle defeat. 100s of City fans booing and singing sacked in the morning at Tranmere to him didn’t help his cause either.

 

Mathematically it might still be possible but realistically, no chance. I noticed in the presser today when GA was talking about next year's budget he said something about not knowing yet what league we are going to be in next season. I haven't stopped laughing since.

No way Hughes would have got us in the playoffs. He only needed to tweak the system from last year but instead of doing so he ripped everything apart with the switch to 5-3-2.

He had no idea of his best formation or XI when he was fired and he still failed to grasp the criticisms of the fans, who wanted a more positive mindset.

Hughes really should have been sacked after Carlisle. The fans had had enough but keeping him on only delayed the inevitable, then wasted pre season and the opening months.
