Highest wage budget yes, but we were 5th highest in the league and are mid table.

We purchased our play off place by the same logic.

I hope Rupp is asking Sparks for a refund.

Who says we were 5th highest? It’s either propoganda for the masses, or misspent money.

It doesn’t detract from my comment Vin, Parky asks for money and he gets it. Think of the only way they can keep up TV ratings ….by buying players from one or two divisions above , and continual success. One feeds the other!

We were told on here that the hollywood boys were clueless and a joke. Would end in tears......

    Well, look at them now.

They've brought in the right people to the club, off the field they've brought in Shaun Harvey who is far from popular in with fans but he is knowledgeable of how football works. They also brought in a CEO who was Commercial Director at Burton and highly thought of within football. On the pitch bringing in Parkinson was a brilliant appointment and where a lot of clubs would've panicked after not getting promoted in the 1st season and sacked him they stuck with him and again earlier this season there were some calls for him to be sacked but they stuck with him.

Neither owners had aspirations to sit alongside Parky in the dug out. Their formula has clearly worked and will most likely reap rewards in a couple of seasons time, either through sponsorship or selling the club.

    If only…

Whilst you can't do anything but sit back and admire what they have done at Wrexham, I'd argue that the achievements at Stockport County pale that into insignificance. National League North to League One in five years and as Champions !

Amazing what a bit of investment can bring. Only a person who has no familiarity with our history or football in general, won’t understand the frustration of seeing Wrexham, Stockport, Barrow et Al, pass us by. I’m hoping Sharp is the first of many, many steps that will see us challenging at the top of this league and the one above. I’m tired of being the laughing stock of the division.

This is it for me. If they don’t frame themselves and get this club going in the right direction this season I won’t be there next. I want to see us in the top half all season. If I have to stay away due to poor performance I will add them up. If I feel we are dragging our heels on bringing in the right players then yet another problem. We have notoriously filled our squad with players who either not ready or not skilled enough. This season has to be quality not quantity.

That’s been the big issue. I’d love the first 4 or 5 signings to be of starting 11 quality, then the rest of the team with the best from the rest of the current squad. Realistically that’s the best we can hope for.
