Why wouldn't they want an manager with 4 promotions to his name including 2 from the division they play in and a history of overachieving with a club that has a very small budget

 

Because he's an obnoxious, dour, actually very dour bloke with absolutely no people skills?

 

After their performance today even he would have to be dragged kicking and screaming. Not a match made in heaven for the management mercenary.

 

Looks like he's going to be Swindon manager soon. Poor bastards.

I think Wilsden Bantam said on another forum that they'll probably win the league since Swindon are pretty good at turning our shit into gold.

 

If he does go there it will be interesting to see how he does. He works well with limited budgets and Swindon have money troubles, however, I don't think they would be looked as underdogs like he was at Morecambe. If the fans are prepared to accept his style of football there's every chance he could make it promotion number 3 with them.
Either way it's a big job for him and needs some success after his spell at Ross County ending how it did.

 

Interesting character is Derek. Doesn’t seem to make friends easily, a single man and teetotaller, and has an abrasive character that seems to rub most people up the wrong way.

Had 3 attempts at Ross Co and its only fair Morecambe get the same.

On the other hand, he only got the one chance here and two more attempts here should see epic meltdowns

Derek Adams returns to Morecambe (again). No idea what to make of this, from the club hierarchy it's probably the best they could get as the club is in a real mess but from his point I'm not sure why he'd want to go back unless he just wants a safe job where he'll have most fans onside and if he can get them to a play off/top half finish like he had them last season then it's another overachievement from him.
