    Hearing the Yorkshire Penny Bank at the end of North Parade is opening again as a pub this coming Saturday, for you guys who enjoy a beer before the game., how long it stays open for this time is anyones guess.

    Not long I'd say, it's the Sunday to Thursday trade that is the big problem for that place and others in Bradford.

    Was that formerly the City Gent? Went in there last season after the Charlton match, soaked by the heavy rain only to find there was no draught beer! Have avoided it since then.

    I have to agree.
    But it only 'seems like yesterday', that part of town was lively, most nights of the week. :(
    You can tell I was an 80's lad, can't you ? ;)

    The biggest piss off ? Loads of takeaways, but no Restaurants, any more. Mid 70's I took many a 'bird' to 'The Grosvenor' in the lower town - starting at the top end.
    Nowa days - a quick Kebab, and a carry out beer.
    There is so little to attract us, anymore.

    What was the posh Indian/ Pakistani restaurant opposite the Yorks penny bank on the left heading towards the registrars building. Didn’t it have another sister place at the bottom of Pool Bank?

    They had one in Manchester as well a few years back, on Rochdale Road. Again, the food was excellent.

    Speaking to doorman at the record it’s under new ownership Nikki doesn’t have it anymore and it was took over

    Doorman said it’s dead other than matchdays even on weekend evenings I like the pub great setting but seating doesn’t work and bar is in the wrong place but hey ho

    Glad it’s reopened
