Steward should have smacked him. Can you imagine someone doing that to you in your park, or whilst you are working

 

Not really. It’s in the laws players must adhere to them .

Generally I thought he was the best ref seen all season, officiating a game between two teams who wanted to play football, no timewaste, no niggling each other, no fake head assaults , no wind up the crowd, etc etc.

I thought he was decent too, and all those things you mention do make his job easier
