If Cook had been playing we wouldn't have played like that, we would have just lumped it up to him.

Just wasn’t our night, played superbly all game but the ball just wouldn’t run for us in the penalty box. Wycombe couldn’t have complained if we’d won 3-0.

What a bloody shame but we were the team we all want us to be tonight, played superbly and no doubt deserved to win. So many really good performances, so sorry for Stubbs in making the key error as he was brill otherwise. Odour and Kav were superb, Gilly and Halliday boundless energy - they were a proper team tonight but just couldn’t finish Wycombe off. Nothing but pride from me tonight and we have to use it as a springboard for the rest of the season (shades of Parky after the Swansea defeat?)

Ps for me tonight is not a night to moan about any of our players

Got absolutely mugged there. Wycombe were truly dreadful to say they're a division above us and we created enough chances to win that game twice over.

Positives are we played good football on the deck which has to be the standard from now on. No more hoofball when Cook is back, because shock horror we play better when the ball isn't in the air.

We'll get more out of tonight even though we lost than winning when we play shit.

Better side tonight, just couldn't get the goal against a decent stopper.

Some of the lads will be disappointed, but we've outplayed a League One team and should have bagged a couple of goals.

Wycombe fan here - you played us off the park, and not arguing that was anything other than a smash and grab. However, I am really on here to say good luck for the rest of the season. On that showing you will be knocking loudly on the door of the playoffs.

    Perfectly put.
As for the Parky & Swansea reference, a similar reaction starting on Saturday can be the only follow up to a performance such as that. If nothing else, the players have proven to themselves that even without some of the regular starting squad members, we have the ability to play on the front foot.

GA has talked a lot about fitness levels. Did tonight give us the biggest indication of improvements in this area?

I have to add, I’ve given GA stick at times this season, but he’s managed the past 3-4 games very well.

Cheers Shev. Obviously gutted in the moment, but loads of positives to take. With Cook & Young back and we play anything like that we are in with a chance of the play offs for sure.

Whilst the Manager is important, I think their role is sometimes overstated. What I mean is, the manager will put in place systems, principles, tactics, but so much then depends on the players they have on the pitch. The difference between having a genuine playmaker like McDonald in the middle and Gillead as a wingback with his energy and running, as opposed to Gilly sitting in midfield and Ridehalgh being on the left is huge. Having the right players in the right roles will take the same system and make the difference between difficult to watch, aimless long ball, to front foot, aggressive direct and effective football. GA needs time to shape his squad

I can't see Kelly being fit for Saturday which is a shame because the defence had built a great understanding. Who he puts in that left of a 3 is anyone's guess. Hopefully everyone else is OK.

Just making the point generally. Make a mistake as a keeper or defender, its costly. Make a mistake as a forward, its less obvious in terms of being impactful. No blame should be on one person, we win together and lose together. Again, a general point, not aimed at you.

Well got back a few minutes ago. I have to say we were desperately unlucky. Given City's dominant performance, we should have won. Given it was a defeat, it was the best performance, when we have suffered a reverse. If City can continue that level of performance and actually score, we will win a heck of a lot of games.
