Only worry on the defence form is if the Doyle switch has any baring on how they perform as a unit. I can see us being under the cosh for most the first half, second half being more even. Hopefully we play it on the deck but if the pitch is a boggy mess, I wouldn't be surprised to see us go long, regardless of who plays up front.

 

I hope they don’t open the upper tiers. If they need extra capacity they should open MR or lower TL Dallas

 

Parker hinting this morning that Wright might play up front centre if Young is still not fit. Not sure how I feel about that!

I agree tbh, I think it definitely affects the atmosphere when fans are scattered about in the upper tiers, although it seems very hit & miss whether they do or not!

There is no way they'll open Midland Road stand for home fans this late as it will take more stewards than opening the upper tier of the Main Stand to cover it or staff for the kiosks. Opening the lower stand of the TL Dallas also means more stewards as they'd have to cover more of the pitchside.

It's also really a bit irrelevant as it would need probably 2000 tickets to be sold in the next few hours which won't happen especially as tickets are £5 more now so why would that many people buy them today when they could've got them yesterday at full price. Also as it is reserved seating it take away the issue we had against Blackburn in the cup a few seasons ago which was unreserved so there were a lot of odds seats left wasted.

 

If that was to happen I wouldn't be surprised if we changed back to 352 with Oduor dropping into midfield and Kavanagh playing alongside Wright as a front 2.

 

Hopefully. It would mean we need to be brave and leave two or three up during the match to ping it down the channels on the break.

 

Well with this rain, it's not going to be pretty. Which is bog standard for us at the moment. The one bit of real quality on Saturday is when we got the ball down and made 3 passes, keeper to striker and cut them wide open for the goal.
Hopefully with Cookie out we see much more of this. His two misses on Saturday were criminal .
No matter what we all think of the club at this present time a win tonight and a trip to Wembley can be nothing but positive in terms of moral and finance.
