Doyle will stay on as a coach, pointon will get a contract extension and hopefully Halliday signs a new deal. I’d say walker aswell but his injuries are just too much. Won’t miss the rest.

We've got one year options on all but Chapman & Platt.

The rest only leave if we want them to.

 

No but it could be written in as part of the deal . Eg The last year if we take up the option will include increases to the value of the RPI for example .

Is he not accountable the way Hughes and Hodge were?
I suppose if the goal is to be sustainable then Gent will do as he can find the players that match our cheap season tickets and he can continue to scrape the bottom of the middlesbro' barrel.

We have options on everyone out of contract apart from Platt and Chapman so the club is in control of who leaves in June.

 

If they are options on the clubs side as suggested, then no. It's just basically as easy as adding on an existing year to the current contract. There has been instances in the past where a player has a say on the option and can opt against if they want to go, but I don't think there has been anything to suggest that's in play here.

Obviously, players might want to adjust their money after the options are triggered, but it would mean a new deal. Wrexham did that with a few this season, Mullin and I think it was Lee had options in the summer which were picked up, and then both signed new deals this season too on more money. Knowing our recruitment team, it wont be an extra years option we have on the contracts, it will be an extra 3!

 

I think it's time for Harry to leave. I know he had a bad injury but his assists record isn't great. I would think Kavanagh is probably the player who takes over his role from him.

 

Shame because he's a decent player who stands out playing for other sides.

Not bothered about Chapman,we are probably not the right club for him,but I would want to keep Platt,there are not many,if any,stronger centre halves in league two,which is where I would imagine we will be again next season.

 

Same but I wouldn’t be surprised if Platt gets offers from League 1 and moves on.
