An average O'Connor performance would look good in the current side. It felt to me like it was probably the manager's/club's fault when he took his bat and ball home and we've had a series of players seem to have done that since. If you have had a bad spell at CIty in the last decade, are you a bad player or just fed up of what goes on off the pitch and out of sight of fans? Several years of players (and a few managers) coming here, starting brightly and then underperforming raises a lot of questions about how they are getting demotivated.

Are you suggesting that booing the team onto to the pitch for the second half is a regular occurance at away games? I'm all ears if you have evidence of this because otherwise, your statement makes no sense.

This group of players are seriously underperforming. The squad is not as useless as everyone is saying. We have on the books Cook, Pointon, Walker, Wright, Halliday, Young, Chapman, Gilliard and Pattison. Other clubs would love 9 like that. We have 5 big centre halves and a giant of a goalkeeper. They should be able to go on a run that would take us into top 8 if not the playoffs. Our manager is not a novice. And we have a backroom staff who have done so well commercially. Much of the abuse on this site is hardly rational.

There is some agreement on the remedies. Defending with three slow defenders across the pitch does not work. Get the two best to act as a guard and control the penalty area. Encourage them to pass it out. Two fast fullbacks who play as full backs.
Move our best player - Halliday - into midfield. Play Pointon and Gilliard. Get a new freekick taker. We have got good forwards. Play three of them. Cook, Young and Wright would be a handful. Keep long balls but mixed with passing. The whole team to move 10 yards forward and press as a unit.

Fans to be more supportive - long suffering we might be.
