When has he "publicly stated" that he doesn't want to back here?

I've seen nothing. His most recent statement is in this link below. Very professional of him. Of course he's going to want to stay at Swindon, especially when he's talking to their local paper, but that doesn't mean he's going to be a problem when he comes back.

Hopefully Jake is recieving some good advice from those close to him before he returns to our ranks.
At 22 his football career is far from over barring a major injury set back.
I expect him to come back to Valley Parade and produce nothing less than quality performance's,if he's picked.
We can't afford to carry a sulking player and supporters will soon voice their opinions if this is evident on matchday.
Our current manager doesn't appear publicly to lambast individuals, instead taking a more private line which I admire.
I trust Alexander to manage Jake accordingly on his return to the squad.
    Let's hope it's a productive one.

Ok, I’ll retract that he hasn’t publicly said it but there’s apparently people in the know that have said he doesn’t have the desire to come back here and potentially fight for a starting place.

That's no surprise. I think we forget, this happens to numerous players in every window.

His attitude might have changed given our change of manager, our good run, their poor run, and their poor finances.

I don't see an issue at all. Even if he only scores 8 for us, he'll be putting himself in the shop window for a June move. Or maybe he goes now. Either, way all good for him.

So how does he intend to impress his fellow professional colleagues that he above those that have been working their socks deserve automatic inclusion? I am sorry it doesn’t make sense. He may well be apprehensive coming back, but he needn’t be, he has friends here, and as far as the fans are concerned clean slate show us what you have got.

I’ll elaborate on what I heard, and where I heard it.

What I heard is that he’s not keen to return, but that seemed to be in the context more of ‘I’m really enjoying it at Swindon and don’t want to leave’ rather than being steadfastly against returning to City. I was also told that his problem was squarely with Hughes, and that whilst he wasn’t the only one not to ‘click with Hughes’, he has something of an ‘attitude’ - now, that wasn’t expanded on and it could just be the intemperance of youth. I was also told that there are 2 Championship clubs interested, but not who they were or how interested.

Source - a chance meeting in the pub with the father of a current League Two player. So you can make of that what you will in terms of credibility, but he seemed kosher and did have photos of him with his son at his current league club, so I don’t doubt his identity. He also said his son would ‘crawl over broken glass’ to come and play at Bradford and interestingly, the player is both doing well, at a good age and out of contract next summer. So lets see…

I wouldn't want to get into naming anyone, just sharing a bit of pub talk. Could all be guff of course. Time will tell

    Wooaahhhhh, now hang on there.

You may be right and if memory serves I was one of them dismissing Ivan Toney and I'm also happy to admit I got it badly wrong.

The difference being though that I'm happy to put my neck on the block whereas certain posters suggest every signing is a great one.

Heck, I even had one poster, perhaps you could help me remember their name?, telling me how useful Afoka and Tulloch looked after a rare win for the season down in Newport.

From what I've seen and heard from Alexander (taking responsibility for the first half performance at Notts County etc) I would think if he already hasn't he will be having a sit down with Young to get his side of the reason why if true he's reluctant to return, I doubt very much Alexander would want any player who is not committed to be at valley Parade, he looks to have momentum both on the field and off it no one should be a distraction from that no matter how many goals he's scored.
