When was the last time we had a home match postponed due to a waterlogged pitch?

 

Did ours yesterday, first break in the rain for 6 days , beer in garage cooling nicely for this afternoon ….what more could we want? There’s always a Tuesday night instead… I may watch how our asset is going on instead, The Wombles game is on. !

It’s almost like it’s a (relatively) new stadium, built on levelled ground, with excellent pitch drainage built in, isn’t it.

 

Lights all done and just reaching for that malt, when the wife suggested we could do a bit of shopping.

Its days like this , that bring it home to me, who really does wear the trousers in this household.

 

Yes its only 30 years old. And we spent hundreds of thousnds on our pitch with new drainage only a few years ago

It might be win/win if you have a life that is entirely based around attending football matches. But most normal people have far more demands on their time during the spring and summer months when the weather is better - holidays, family and friends activities, playing and watching other sports, hobbies and interests that require reasonable weather etc etc. For most people, moving football to a summer game would mean far more conflicts of activities and therefore far more missed games. It would also leave the more boring winter months devoid of football to distract us from the cold, dark and dearth of other activities.
So for me, and for many others, it would be a massive lose/lose.

 

Why watch them???

 

Feel sorry for the likes of you. We probably have more fans who have to travel to VP than would have travelled from Salford.
