    Need to see things over a much larger sample size and with league games, but you can see thar Alexander is at least trying to play front foot, high intensity and attacking football. Long may that continue.

    Firstly, the EFL have confirmed that this season's prize money has been increased (and backdated to the beginning of this season's competition), due to the sponsorship by Bristol Street Motors.

    So, with tonight's win, this season's competition has earned us £70,000 in participation/prize money so far.

    These are season's figures:

    Participation fee £20,000

    Each group game win = £10,000 (draw = £5,000)

    2nd round win £20,000
    3rd round win £40,000
    Quarter final win £50,000
    Semi final - no prize money, but each club gets a £20,000 facility fee for Sky TV coverage
    Winner gets £100,000 (Runner up gets £50,000)

    The draw for the 3rd round (round of 16) will take place on Sky Sports News at 6.30pm on Friday 8 December 2023. The next round will remain regionalised (Northern and Southern sections), with matches due to take place in week commencing Monday 8 January 2024.

    No prize money by the EFL's definition but, effectively the £50,000 loser's prize money in the final guarantees you will win at least that by winning the semi-final; plus there's the TV money in the semi-final.

    Cookie is your stereo typical league 2 lump, but wouldn’t it be nice to have a player who can control a ball and have that little bit of nouse. He finds the net often enough but I think if Oliver gets up to speed quickly, he’d be a better fit for Smith. Hopefully Cook will feel the pressure and start knocking them in for fun like last season.

    We've had about as an easy a run as you could've hoped for with an out of form Grimsby, Man City 21s, Barnsley B and Liverpool U21s but likely to get a lot tougher now with the options in the next round being:
    • Accrington/Lincoln
    • Blackpool
    • Bolton
    • Burton
    • Derby
    • Doncaster
    • Wigan/Stockport
    It would be good to get another home tie with best options probably Burton or Doncaster.

    That’s very easy to answer. Less than three weeks ago, away at Notts County, losing 4-2. We had 24 shots. Cook had eleven of them.
