His point stands on Posh. If they were L2 if would be £1.5-£2m. Theyve done it plenty of times.

 

Agree McBurnie was around the same age as Young when Swansea saw potential and paid £250.000 plus add ons, Jake is far from the finished article but has certainly done more than Ollie had done at a similar age.

It seems there's a few on here quite determined Jake is already a failure at City, as though he cant adapt his prolific record elsewhere, and it seems some would be quite happy this was the case!
How bizarre, what a talent we have, we wont be selling this talent, we'll be using him to carry on his regular scoring at City.
Im amazed some arent looking forward to witnessing his ability, and somehow seem to want this kid to fail!
He's brilliant at l2 level and he's ours, what the FK is wrong with some of you, we need this kid so much.

I’ve held my hand up on this one as although I didn’t think he was special last season, after his failed loan spell at Barrow I didn’t think he had what was needed to succeed here. But happy to be proved wrong after his prolific spell at Swindon.

The 3 (+1) year deal puts us in a great position here. Charlie Wyke went for 250k but only because of a clause (and that was years ago before subsequent inflation). He was worth double if not triple that. Young is scoring for fun - and scoring worldies - and their fans think he’s capable of playing at a higher level.

Now here’s the key bit. Whether GA plays a different system is irrelevant. The budget is stretched, as per late desperation loans before the window shut, and here we have a player who is worth 250k, 500k, 750k, whatever, and we can effectively get him for free to boost a side struggling for goals - whats a penalty fee to cancel the loan in the grand scheme of things?

If he came back and didn’t fit the system he’ll still hold high residual value in the summer having netted 20 or whatever now. Those goals are on his record, can’t be taken away, and equal cash, ladies and gents.

I hope he is willing to come back and utilised well. If he slotted in then the playoffs aren’t out of the equation. Barrow are third for god’s sake. It’s still an absolute pony league,

 

By more luck than judgement the loan move to Swindon has given us a saleable asset. Lets face it, had he stayed at Valley Parade there is no guarantee he'd have even been in the squad let alone scoring the amount of goals hes scored at Swindon. Fortune really has been on our side here, hopefully this sort of thing that also happened with Doyle will not happen again.

 

Don't think i've seen anyone want him to fail, merely people having a different opinion on what should happen if he comes back? There is no guarantee if he/when he comes back that he keeps up his scoring record, just look at Andy Cook from last season to this. If he is as good as some on here think then he won't be here January. Why? Because someone will make a bid for him from a division above, thats how football works.
