GA does make a good point that the whole reason players go out on loan is so they get game time, improve as players and hopefully come back.
It’s not intended that just because they do well at their loan club that they should stay.

I do find this particular situation with Young quite funny, a new manager comes to a club that has the leading scorer in the EFL and wonder why he might want to recall him.

Yes but it’s only relevant if Young has the desire to come back and give 100%
It’s not a piece of machinery that you can just take back to do the same job as it did elsewhere.

He has to be recalled in January, simple as that. It would be madness not to

GA continues to impress me, he is saying all the right things including in his latest interview

GA has the experience and nous how to get the most out of League 2 players, Mark Hughes . That is the fundamental difference

He seems to have learned that maybe Hughes was right regarding attitude. If he does come back there will be no problems regarding giving 100% that is without doubt.

The Irish News Article, which quotes Young’s thoughts, suggests quite a balanced and mature young player. It seems to have some depth, otherwise he has a good PR coach who has provided him with a decent position statement, which he has delivered with some clarity.

If he's clever enough he'll realise Hughes did him a the biggest favour he'll ever get. Wouldn't have got game time at Bradford, even if he did he would never had got the exposure he's currently getting at Swindon. Although the guy he has really thank for this is Michael Flynn. Guaranteed he gets either a start at Bradford or a decent move elsewhere.

Totally agree. Regardless of whether he stays or not Noway should we accept anything less than £400,000 minimum! If we do we deserve to be in this awful league.

Flynn can certainly take a bow. He brought the best out of a player and restored his confidence. He knew if he started scoring he wouldn’t be staying. Now Flynnie do the next mission prepare him to come back to Bradford. Send us the bill.

Yeah i think there is a payment if we take him back early. Insignificant in the grand scheme of things as his goals now make him hot property.

One thing we all need to remember it’s in his best interests.

His options as I see it.

Remains on a low ( it WILL be) weekly wage for the rest of his contract and sulks with the kids.
Pulls his socks up, continues to score and generates interest in an improved offer for the remainder of his contract with BCAFC
Decides he wants to leave and get a better contract from the buying club.

That’s how I see it , linked of course, with the clubs options I posted earlier.

Yes absolutely, Swindon aren’t in it unless their benefactor adds to his £8m already spent?

Spot on, GA will be sat there thinking I can get a 20 plus goal striker in for absolutely nothing. It's a dream situation for him to be in, he won't have any thoughts about "what if he fires blanks here" or at least no more than he would with a total unknown to BCAFC

At least we'd be able to make them at least double his worth if they want him

Makes me laugh when I hear people say we should leave him at Swindon or sell him for 200k. We sold academy players like Sahil for 200k.

If Peterborough had the EFL top scorer they would be asking for £3m.

I think over the time of watching football I've grasped that concept.

He's our player and would be coming back to a fresh start under a new manager who obviously fancies him or he would not be requesting his return, why would he not want to come back and show his new manager and us City fans he can continue scoring and that he should never have been forced out of the club by Hughes.
He's shown what he can do at Swindon in a different environment no guarantee he would continue at the ratio he's been scoring, IMO it would be a very stupid if Alexander did not to want to see if he can be a success under him.

I'm sure when he returns ( unless off course a very good offer is made by another club) after Alexander has a man to man talk with him about his situation before he left (although I'm sure he will know the situation having spoken to Ryan) we can find a revitalised Bradford City players similar to Mark Marshall during his second season after Stuart had a word.
