    Not half way through the season yet. Of course it’s going to be difficult but if we give it a go and just fail it will give us some optimism going forward with this manager. 7 goals in the last three matches in all competitions should be giving us positives at last.

    Got back around half an hour ago and now enjoying a couple of celebratory beers.

    Well worth the half time lead, but we took a few to many risks in the second half.

    Has anyone mentioned an 'incident' during the warm up, about 25 minutes before kick off, when one or two Forest Green Rovers players took exception to our young goalkeeper being in 'their' half, when we were practising long goal kicks? It looked like he was forcefully pushed, more than once, by one of the Forest Green Rovers players.

    After that, I suspect our young keeper was delighted that we stuffed them like some cheap vegan turkey.

    Agree with you. They only came into it because we seemed to ease off. If they'd have scored then Alexander would have been very frustrated. I suspect he'll have told them that they should have carried on pushing and got a third before half time.

    Still, a win is a win, need another 4 in the next 5 or something to be up by the play offs again though. The shocking start to the season has left a lot to do. Which is exactly what GA is saying here to be fair.

    Debatable. Using that theory whenever a striker turns a defender he has a clear shot on goal. My argument is, will he have had a clear run on goal into a one on one with the keeper. No he would not.

    Very good point. As you know, I'm not a fan of sacking managers after a short time. However, Hughes going was correct - because he seemed to be getting the worst out of the players.

    It was a clear goal scoring opportunity.

    Doesn't matter how close to the goal he was or how far he could have run.

    On a Forest Green Rovers positive note, the club have a decent fanzone (as long as you don't expect meat). I even managed to get a quality espresso (at less than high street prices).

    ok Mr Pedantic, I forgot about the late Barnsley goal, now if I had said last two clean sheets in the league would that have been ok? Mate. I think people can understand the point. Defending is a lot more than just what you do on the ball but organization and positioning.
