I've taken this from the City Memories book.

The Queen at the official opening of the new Midland Road stand in 1997.

It's the 68-69 derby at Bradford Park Avenue with Avenue facing their local rivals Bradford City. Brannan tackles Corner with Atkinson Hopkins and Bannister looking on. The match ended 0-0.

I was there. Was it Norman Corner's first game for us?
Edit: yes it was! 25 January 1969.

If the player on the right is Jimmy Lawler who was the center half that day, I thought Jimmy was a permanent fixture at center half just as Flockett was a permanent fixture at full back ?.
Come on @Bantam-in-Greece@Bantam-in-Greece get your thinking cap on ;).

Some confusion here Broncs. I was replying to Tony's post about the derby with Avenue on 25th January 1969. It was Norman Corner's first game for us after signing from Lincoln. I remember being a bit disappointed with him. I read yesterday that at 6'2" he was the tallest player ever to play for City up to that time. How things have changed.

I've been known to go down and help clear the pitch in the past, but I draw the line at clearing pavements for the H&S guys to call it off.
