Fil did a hell of a lot for this club off the pitch. He’s a proper football man with an infectious enthusiasm. I hope he gets a chance in management somewhere, even if it isn’t here.

Alexander got sacked at Salford for his brand of football apparently yet were the 2nd highest scorers in the league at the time albeit only 5 games in.
He had success at Scunny, Fleetwood, Salford and Motherwell. I can’t see anyone out there who on paper looks any better.
