Just in case some people aren't already aware, in a great bit of planning to coincide with the first home match of the season not only will Wakefield Rd but shut but also Manchester Rd at Odsall Top. Throw in a few thousand Barnsley fans heading in to the city from that direction and Ikea shoppers queuing throught the lane restrictions on the M62 at Gildersome, it's fair to say that if (like me) your journey to the match involves the M62 and M606 then it's going to be a nightmare journey on Saturday so don't set off too late.

More reason to get a taxi into town around midday for a couple of hours on the ale before the game.

    I always take M1 then M62 exiting at J27.
I drive along Tong Street and Wakefield Road. Never a problem. However, I will now hit the Ring Road and Join Leeds Road (A647) down the line. I'll allow 30 minutes extra (Cos every sane person will be doing this !), and anticipate no real issues. :)
Failing that, then drive through Holmewood, and go 'cross street', via Parry Lane to meet the A647.

One way in which direction? Away from Queens Rd or in the direction of Queens Rd?

Is this a temporary arrangement or permanent?

The roadworks start at 17:00 on Saturday but I'm sure the police will ask them to put it back to 18:00 to let crowds get back to motorway.

    Towards Queens Road from Tesco.

It is part of the Cycle Super Highway

Thanks but bugger ... and bugger!

And all part of that great white elephant cycleway expecting cyclists in one of hilliest cities in the country to don their helmets, jump on their bikes and start pedalling! Do you know whether the Cycle Super Highway gets much use at the moment?

Don't the planners realise that hundreds of fans visiting VP 23 days a year park on Valley Rd to get out of that area quickly after games? They have shown no consideration at all to the great Bradford City supporting visitors to the city!

Better look for a new parking place for the new season.

We park on Kings Road, slightly further away but if you get there early enough you can get a decent spot and then you can get off straight away

Normally I would agree, but Northern Rail are a mess at the moment.
