I think it was because he would have had to take the shot on his weaker foot, it seems as though his right is only for standing on. I made this comment a few weeks ago, I feel like he’s very similar to Scott Banks when he arrived. Hopefully he can gain confidence with his right.

Yes maybe. I do agree about him being very one footed, commented same myself on another thread. I think that's why ultimately he will be more effective in a central role. Or maybe something even more radical...play a left footed player on the left!

Quite surprised me that one

 

I was impressed in his little cameo .

 

It's when he has to make decisions (rather than just maintaining a winning starting 11) that we start to see how the non-starting players react to him. A good test of his credentials.

 

Taylor isn’t as sloppy as Platt so it makes sense. He also seems to have a personality whereas Platt is like cardboard. Anyone who's met the lad probably agrees

 

nice to see a manager pick an XI that makes sense after enforced changes. Hughes had Oyegoki in CM etc. head scratching changes

 

I'm pleased for Taylor. Could have taken his bat and ball home after the iffy start to the season.
But he was excellent v Grimsby and didn't look out of place against Fletcher & Mullin.
He deserves another go.

 

As others have said, glad to see Chapman back in contention. Hope he is able to get a little run out at the end when theyre tiring
