He hired Sparks. That’s the first thing that made me think he isn’t serious or doesn’t care. Now Sparks is learning on the job but his lack of footballing intelligence is clear and he needs help. Commercial manager has been appointed but it’s like the club has gone as far as it can with a disinterested owner! We need more hands on and someone that cares.

Rupp time at the club has been a failure. Sad times. Div 2 and going nowhere! That simple.

Tbf he defended Rahic to the death, getting nasty with fans on here so I don’t think he is.

 

I just can't get my head round the fact that there's "no point in change".

If we were 6 months into Rupp's tenure and we as fans were getting hysterical then fair enough. But we're into our 7th year of his reign and going nowhere fast. And despite the turnaround since Hughes left, this is likely yet another season to be written off.

 

I wonder how much say Scunthorpe were valued at when they were in the Championship and how much are they worth now? Valuations fluctuate based on current fortunes or assets owned.
Like @Fordy117 suggests, when Rupp bought the club our stock was higher and we were feasibly on the verge of being a Championship club. We are a million miles from that now and quite rightly the club is worth less.

 

There is good reason for change but only to the right buyer who can make a real difference.
I don’t see a queue of people with 10million quid beating down the VP doors.

 

Everyone is entitled to their opinion, I’d imagine Park and few others on here who I won’t mention genuinely hate change.

Like who are we to criticise or question we are just customers. Clap and support no matter what attitude, I find that a truly dangerous mindset for the future of the club if no one challenged.

like I say each to their own, imagine it’s a generational thing. Thankfully there are people who are passionate about this club and push it, demand better standards.

We don’t get out of this league until Rupp is gone. 7 years of decline is my evidence for that conclusion.

 

Genuine question, have we had 7 years of decline? I know we are now lower than 7 years ago but is it seven years of decline?

 

There's no doubt that so far under Rupp, his ownership has been an unmitigated failure. From challenging for a place in the Championship to struggling to get promotion back to League One.

Yet, let's not forget that the two previous City supporting owners didn't fare much better, without Parkinson, their record was also pretty appalling. Yes, a fair chunk of that time was struggling with the fallout of the financial failures brought on by GR. But other clubs have fought back from the brink of extinction and rebounded successfully, some more recently than City. Whereas City seem to have all the elasticity of a dead cat when it comes to regaining and retaining a place higher up the football pyramid.

 

After his first season year upon year we have declined positionally. Last year I believe was our highest finish since that season.

Stats that are important - we are now a league 2 club on manager number 9/10.

 

Where financials are concerned Fordy doesn’t understand inflation he’s proved that . So won’t take any suggestions from himself nor yourself if you say he’s right.

 

What you don’t understand is football is different to most businesses.

Rupp needs to go! 10m, 13m bloody 6m! It really doesn’t matter! The sooner he goes the better! Simple as that!!

 

I don’t disagree with you. We do need a person who has considerable wealth at his or her disposal. I would suggest that they need not only the 10 million to buy the club but more to actually take this club onwards.
It is not a generational thing either I was 74 a couple of weeks ago and still want this club to progress long after I am gone.

I'm 33 and I'd quite like to see us in the Championship again in my lifetime.

20 years at the end of this season since we were at that level.
