He reminds me an Avenue youngster of the 1960s, Ian Gibson. I am sure that his off the field behaviour is completely different though.

 

If Walker does miss the MK Dons game it could be the right time to do just that mate, obviously if Gilly is also missing then his problem is there rather than the number 10 position for no matter what some say of the lad he certainly puts the yards in as shown yesterday.

Totally agree the longer McDonald is in charge and we continue with our present form getting him onboard becomes more of a priority for the club, would a new man be able to keep the momentum going, I keep going back to the interview where he said he'd be in the job until another candidate took over "be that two weeks or months" he's certainly doing a very good job with the squad right with him with regards how he wants us to play.

 

If he is still alive, he will be 80. He was an Avenue regular at 17, started out wide right then moved inside. Played deeper than I think Bobby will but could kill a ball and take it away from defenders at the same time. He knew where team mates would be before he received the ball. Went to Middlesbrough when about 20 and played for Scotland. His Saturday night habit of at least 8 pints and whisky chasers put him out of the first class game by the time he was 30.

Surprised he made it to then. A friend went out with Gibbies former fiance`. My mate was a big drinker but she could drink him under the table.

 

Was Jimmy Scoular player manager at BPA when Gibson was there.?
