Glad to hear you’re in Greece, hope you’re enjoying it. I was about to mention your Hanson comments too. One thing I will say about @NorthernMonkey and his views on Hanson is that I thought he was completely wrong and just trying to wind people up. Then, a couple of months ago on here, he explained that he thought Hanson was generally an excellent player for us but his latter stages weren’t as good. Kind of changed how I saw Monkey’s comments on the big lad. (I still think some of his comments were meant to wind some up though ).

 

Course they were/are.
The period Monkey always harps on about was when Hanson was a shadow of his earlier self due to being pumped full of steroids and sent out to play every week when injured by PP. But his ‘Presence’ period shouldn’t detract from what he did for us when he was fit and firing - ie the bulk of his City career.

 

I think Parky's quote was 'If Hanson is 80% fit, he plays'.

So who is in the second tier? Much as I admire those 3rd tier names you mention above, I feel Hansons overall contribution during his time at the club was greater. Just my opinion of course. @NorthernMonkey will be along when he's finished his Mythos.

One of the best yes , but Wells and Jim were light years and two divisions behind Mills and Blake who WERE the best. Good nevertheless .
