Not a chance he'd come to league two but no, not for me.

We need to learn from the Hughes experiment and the appointment of another ex PL and international manager wouldn't really feel like we have done.

He got £500k for less than a month's work at Beeston (great job he did though worth every penny ensuring they went down). Apparently was on £2m if they stopped up
So cant really see it can you

I’m so depressed looking at the names linked. Not that I expected any less but the list is very grim.
Richardson while hailed as a hero at Wigan had a huge budget for league one when he got them up and if you read up on him his tactics sound dreadful. I think he would be a massive risk.

I look at what Keiran McKenna has done at Ipswich with no managerial experience and think there must be similar prospects out there who just need a chance.to show what they can do. Let's face it, for all Hughes managerial experience his football was generally shite.

I bet the Ipswich fans were saying “who” when McKenna got the job.
Admittedly he had been assistant manager at Man Utd but it was his first job in a full managerial capacity.
    Promotion in his first season.
Schumacher at Plymouth is in his first full managerial role at Plymouth.
Promoted to championship in his second season.

Hughes proved that a massive amount of games managing at the highest level doesn’t always equate to success at our level.

Sometimes the stars just align for a particular manager.

I think what shows is that his tactics suits the league we are in and the one above. What I am less sure about is have we got the players to suit it.

I know what you mean but they have plenty of dosh RT. I’m not up to their transfer activity this season.

That money has to be spent wisely though doesn’t it.
He did it in his first season as well so even if they had a few quid,he built a team very quickly who were capable of getting promoted.

We regularly cite Salford as the prime example of lots of money who continually fail.
Each year they prove that having a few quid without a set structure means nowt.

In my opinion, we ought to be looking at young assistant managers in the Premier League or even the higher echelons of the Championship.

Maresca - assistant to Pep, moves to Leicester for his first managerial job - top of the Championship 7 points clear of 3rd already
Mckenna - assistant/coach at United from 2018 to 2021, moves to Ipswich and gets them promoted from League One now sat in 2nd place in the Championship - he's only 37.

We ought to be looking at young assistants/coaches in the higher league who fancy proving their worth at the helm of a club.

Wether we prove to be a stepping stone for them - who cares - as long as they take us up a league (or even two!)

I agree, but also look at successful managers in the conference.

Imagine the criticism if Sparks appointed someone like that and it went wrong

We shouldn’t just be picking a “type” of manager the slotting then in and keeping our fingers crossed. Due diligence is immensely important. If we have a plan of action with all our priorities and the type of football we want to see st VP and away matches. Then the experience, personality and ambition of all the candidates needs to be matched with Bradford City.

You know when you had a maths test and you had to show your workings out in the column so they knew you had completed the task. We have to be thorough in our recruitment we have to have building blocks on how we came to our decision.

It doesn’t matter which league’s they have been working in it is whether they match Bradford City’s priorities, and the experience, commitment and personality to get us making progress up the league.

I’ve got to say Karl Robinson is the most appealing to me at the minute out of all the names out there.
