Going for the big option in Hughes and Adams hasn't exactly worked well. Trueman is the only logical choice for the caretaker role so he will get that but unless we have some amazing results in the 2-3 weeks it takes to appoint someone else.

What is the problem higher up. Hughes seems to have been given a decent budget, just like previous managers, backed in recruiting his own back room staff, again like previous managers. What else could the owner have done to support him, except giving him an open cheque book

 

Unless Sparks has Warnock or someone else in the wings we only have two choices. Keep him in post or Truman. Suppose he could ask Edin to step in?

 

We're operating without a plan or any coherent strategy and our selection of managers is therefore disjointed and reactive. Sparks needs to have a long hard look at this. You have a club that is well supported an is dying out for a manager who's football is attacking. Our biggest asset as a League Two club is our fanbase. How we can we utilise that when we bring in managers who persist with negative football? Home games should be our advantage, Valley Parade should be a fortress. It hasnt been like that for almost 10 years now

We need a manager that is attacking minded. We have last years top scorer in the team, and a lot of attacking minded players (Walker, Chapman, Tulloch, Wilson, Pattison). We need to utilise those by playing good football. You can't play negative football as Bradford City manager, Adams, Bowyer, Hughes have showed that.

Get a manager in that actually gives what the fans want, someone who doesnt have the philosophy of parking the bus. Watch the mood an the atmosphere at Valley Parade change an the performances that come with it

I agree. Hughes has been backed well. He has had a playing squad of 30 senior plus pros both seasons!!

Like those before him he has bought quantity over quality. When Chapman and Oilver are back we will have 10 or so senior players missing out on match day. We are L2 ffs!!!

We shudda just put all our eggs in 1 basket and got Dan Kemp instead of Tulloch, Afoka and Wilson. Its the same every fcuking time. We did it 2 years ago with Jack Diamond.

 

Cowleys have coasted on their Lincoln success and failed to impress at every club since. That Portsmouth squad should have walked the league last season.

But it's not exactly a talent pool of lower league managers out their at the minute. Cowleys are probably the top end of a bad bunch.
