Oyegoke starts in midfield... oh dear Hughes. That decision could cost you your job!

Pattison and Wilson start which is good news, in my opinion. Tomkinson making a bench appearance too.

 

3 changes Wilson, Oyegoke and Pattison in for Tulloch, Gilliead and Oduor. Oduor drops out of the squad. Looks like a 4231 with Oyegoke in midfield. I don't get Oyegoke over Gilliead unless we've got a clause in his loan that he has to play a certain amount of games. I also don't like Walker on the wing as I don't think he has the discipline to stay wide as he wants to go deep looking for the ball so leaves no option on the left wing.

Said it from him signing that I think he could make the difference this season.

Not really happened yet due to injury but I’m still convinced he will come good.

 

I’m on route but Jesus this guy is clueless - still doesn’t know his best team or formation. He could be on the scrap heap after today.

 

It was a great day over the years.

 

Maybe it's symptomatic of our desperation to find silver linings but Ive not been as impressed by Pattison in the games I've seen as I'm told I should be. He's been alright but I think his performances have been overstated.

 

What's the deal with Pointon BTW. Have I missed something!? I can't fathom why he's not starting never mind on the bench.

Smallwood clearly out of favour. No opinion on it but it's clear.

Do we need two defenders on the bench when we have five starting?

Mind you Hughes could be playing Oyegoke in nets and Lewis as holding mid for all we know.

 

The future might just be to let her go on her own

 

Gary Jones is saying Hughes has picked a team full of energy. A few don't really fit that description.

 

That's not quite what he said. He said the 3 changes have energy, Oyegoke, Wilson & Pattison.

 

Rumour is that he’s said something he shouldn’t have but not sure if that’s the real reason. He did travel with the team tonight

 

No Pointon yet we've room for 2 centre half's on the bench.

 

Baffling mate - MOTM to not even in the squad

 

I can't believe I'm say this. I'm obviously grasping at straws, but I can sort of see the Oyegoke selection. He's fast and skilful and looks a beast of a bloke. Maybe it's what we need in there...but it still smacks of desperation. A bit like when he played Afoku up top, except in this case there are other options to play in midfield

 

Not having a go, but by that logic, let’s just sign anyone from the gym who is 6’6 minimum and build a team of them all. Oyegoke isn’t a midfielder and has no business being played there when we have many midfielders in the squad.

 

Don't know why Pointon not in the squad but I think Wilson in his short cameos has looked like he can play

 

Ill be tuning in hoping for anything but a draw. A draw is no good to anyone. A defeat puts another nail in Hughes’ coffin. A win…..is only ever good, even if you want the manager out.

heart says 3-1 win against a struggling Tranmere team, with Cooky running riot at his old club. Head says 2-0 loss, getting overrun in midfield, offer nothing going forward. Boos off at the final whistle.
