Stockport looked a very decent side when we played them. They were in a massively false position based on performance.

Never understood this 'free hit' nonsense.

It's a competitive game which gives us a chance to get to the last 16 of a major cup competition. The chance to earn money and potentially get a Premier league giant in the next round.

As long as he doesn't insist on his Mark Hughes poster above the bed, it's fine by me.

Without doubt. He's obviously fit and raring to go. If he's got any nagging thoughts in his mind, they'll surely be banished with his performance and hat-trick today.
He also played all the 90+ minutes as well so he obviously feels good.
    The king is back!!!

Yes but a win would be terrific and a loss wouldn’t be catastrophic. Just let’s go for it

A 4-1 win against anyone is always an excellent result. Their set up seemed to suit how we lined up today, our forward players had a lot of space to work in. The pace of the two wide players came into play against a very slow back line. All in all a good day, something I've very rarely seen this season.

The one thing this game proves is that it's Hughes that holds us back... this team has it in them

    Mild sense of irony, yes.

    Excited? Only about our result.

It's a demented take to try and get the credit as an armchair tactician lmao

Was watching with the Newport commentators saying how good we look. Especially Cook bossing their CB. They were suprised we’re not up there. Let’s hope this is a turning point.

Totally agree. However I reckon there’s no chance Cook will easily let Hughes bench him after scoring a hatrick and playing against a North East club

I only saw the first 30 minutes but up until then we looked great. Tulloch absolutely hammered his full back.

Good result though and sounds like a performance to match so hopefully I was completely wrong and from here its onwards and upwards.

Yep, you should thank us armchair tacticians for the four goals you enjoyed today.

Im more inclined to believe the derision he received after the Grimsby and Harrogate games were more instrumental in his decision to actually attack teams using width, as opposed to scrolling down Bantans talk.

I agree hence my comment with regards the fit players who have tried that role.
I'm glad he hasn't over played young Pointon a taste of first team football occasionally isn't bad thing as Bobby is a City fan I bet he was frustrated last week it won't do him any harm to sit the odd game out maybe getting game time against Borough although there having a hard time of it this season I'd like to think Hughes Is going for a win.

Your certainly not alone with regards that wish, it's been said many times this group of players have far more to offer if given the chance, let's hope as you say today was the start.

A fine away win as it was today it can really only be so, when backed up with a following home victory. I know we've got Boro' beforehand but 3pts next Saturday at home to Walsall does then make this result hopefully the start of something
