How many signings did we make? Now making excuses when one or 2 players are out. It’s embarrassing!

No, I wasn’t lauding Mansfield last season at all. I said they will be up there. Look, if we can’t go into every game in Div 2 thinking we will win or drawing is a bad result. Honestly, I don’t see how this club gets out of this league. No, fighting spirit. Fans making excuses and just no care for forward progression. We have a club - great!

Fans like you have gone! Done! Dead! Go to games for something to do, as you are bored in life!

For me, I think we should be better than Mansfield and going there to win, so no I won’t be accepting a draw is a good result.

Smith had a simple header from about six yards out, in the first half that he should have buried in his sleep, but put it wide.

I think he showed that he is a decent back up for CM if he plays like that. Still got some way to convincing he is worth a starting spot. The challenge been when squad is fit, will he revert to underwhelming performances from the bench….?

I don’t disagree with your last paragraph. However Crawley and Morecambe were very woeful performances, with Crewe only been bettered by the actual result - performance was still poor IMO. So at this early stage of the season an improved performance and result at Wrexham together with a better performance away yesterday, is at least better than where we were two weeks ago.

Is share you opinion we should be better than Mansfield and going there to win - I’m just trying to be subjective as if I don’t, the season will already be lost on me!

Mansfield away is always a tough fixture and I use it as a barometer of where we are at. Would have snapped your hands off for a draw without our best attacking players.

Watching the preseason games at home I saw a higher tempo higher press approach which led me to believe we could see more attractive football this season. Hughes said we would be front foot and play higher up the pitch than last season. 8 games in with 6 goals scored and 8 goals conceded is testament that our play has settled in to last seasons slow cautious style again. Our target of scraping into the playoffs playing uninspiring football is back on. Where’s the ambition? How does this get the fans excited and bums out of their seats? More of this drudge and there will be less bums on seats.
We know he’s stubborn but he will have to revert to a back four. Not one player is excelling in this formation.

Fordy, calling other fans gone ,done, dead detracts from your comments and is unnecessary.
Yes we are not setting the world alight, but 6 from 8 matches away from home, is a tough start for any team.
100% at home , playing poorly is not bad.
Add to that several players injured and a few that do not look fit to me , makes a point at Mansfield pretty good, plus we beat unbeaten Crewe , who beat the league leaders easily yesterday. I think we will improve , once the season settles down, we are again proving hard to beat, with a defence that many have called poor. Sort out the defending at set pieces and cut out the stupid mistakes and we will be round about again. If that is good enough to actually achieve promotion, who knows. Hopefully the new players bed in quickly and have something to give.

These comments on here are why this club won’t drive forward
When did city fans become content with this zero entertainment football.
We turn up in great numbers at home and away and happy clap the dire performances
Make no wonder the club, manager etc think they’re doing ok

Hughes incoming transfers for the last 2 seasons have been awful and yes any manager coming in would struggle to pick a winning team

No player at Mansfield was above a 5 ( yes I was there ). If this is the settlement of our fans then it’s a sad state of affairs when we are supposed to have leading budget to challenge top 3.

if the likes of Osedabe having his best game for us is the opinions flying around then we have no hope.

This is as bad or if not worse than the Docherty era

With 5 at the back and 2 densive midfielders in front of them it is no surprise we look tight at the back but that leaves little attacking in the team

But currently City are that limited and with Cook and Pattison missing some games it will be a tough watch against an in-form Grimsby and probably a laugher at home to Harrogate,
Early september but we are going to need these new green loanees to help us attack and score
Or the likes of Derbyshire can last more than 15 minutes
Or the fans will just have to be happy to take a point at home from an inform team.

Funny how we always get a top L2 budget but after a number of transfer windows look short of quality starting players who aren't sicknotes and can guide the club out of L2.
Cheap season tickets will only take you so far.

Well I don’t know anything about your progress through life. However it is my view that when you are trying to reach a goal there is always a step of two backwards before heading for success. When we first appointed Mark Hughes I thought it would be a two season project. I have to keep reminding myself. Of course we would have all been happy if it could have be achieved last season, but here we are.
It wasn’t a great match yesterday but it was better than CrawleyMorecambe and on a par with Wrexham.

I have already stated that MH needs to change and be more adventurous if we are to be promoted. Do I think he will do it? I honestly don’t know, but we have to see how the Autumn unfolds where I want to see us up with the leaders. If not then the club need to get a grip, although I don’t know a manager who would come to us with no room to bring extra players.

If it was that easy then I can guarantee that there would only be a few thousand down at Valley Parade ..............me personally I was happy with a point there but maybe I'm just willing to put up with any old shite because I know what Hughes is all about

Btw had Cook and Pattison played do we really think that there would have been a huge difference anyhow ?????
Did they both play in our first 3 away games which brought us 1 point 1 goal and we conceded 5 goals ?????
He really needs to have a massive rethink regarding Cook ...........Cook will not have a season like last season we all know that and that was down to the management to have sorted it out over the summer months

Lol I'm more critical today than I was yesterday. Even Hughes as admitted it was a bit flat

Cook with 0 goals this season and looking overweight plus dreadful in most games.

Pattison been here 2 mins is now a key player.

Excuses!! We have signed load of forwards and shouldn’t be using 2 players has a reason why we couldn’t hit a barn door.

It's nowhere near as bad as the Docherty era but I get the general gist of what you are saying.

Why do so many people who hate the football go to so many away games?

    Is it like self flagellation?
