Promotion being the key.

From an owners point of view profitability is key for sustainability, from a supporters point of view we want to be promoted. I don't turn up every Saturday thinking "Ah well at least the balance sheets healthy".

Sounds blaise but I don't care about the finances, it's not my concern. I entrust whoever is in charge to get the books balanced.

We have no idea if we've made a profit with player our sales. Wyke's fee can double and we don't know how much of that is a gaurenteed payment either. Additonally, we've also sold Poleon, Vincelot, Hanson and Clarke since Rahic/Rupp took over. Maybe it hasn't gone to plan, but it's not quite the disaster you claimed it was either. I get your point though, generally, we've spent transfer fees poorly and I have no idea what we were thinking when we paid money for Bruenker and Jacob Hanson,

This year we've only spent transfer fees on Doyle and Scannel and atleast there's some sort of logic behind it. None of them have resale value, so it looks like we've abandoned the plan all together.

I have no doubts whatsoever that McCall had a say in recruitment. The pro McCall gang are excusing McCall because Rahic is dictator who doesn't listen to anyone and The pro Rahic gang are making excuses for Rahic because it's McCall's fault that he held back resources. Both are bullshit. There was a 3 man committee and all 3 need to take responsibility for last seasons transfer business.

One of the main reasons “we have to flog them” is short term deals (2years) Clubs who protect potential assets go for 3 years min and some 4. Posh do with lower wages but a longer deal

 

Even if it was one factor of many, I still don't see why McCall's friendly approach with the players would even slightly influence the relationship between Rahic and McCall. Was it jealously or was he just being extremely pedantic? Probably neither as it didn't happen.
