It is a matter of opinions Jimmy, i would describe our squad as having potential, some quality but too many square pegs in round holes as Hughes has changed his mind on playing formation. We also have far too many imponderables due to fitness of key players - how often will McDonald play, is Walker out for another significant stint, will Oliver ever be a reliable back up, will Chapman return with some end product, who authorised Taylor signing and why?, etc etc - to be classed as a strong and developing squad.
I hope you are right and admire your enthusiasm and positive take but for me Hughes, Hodges, Gent and Sparks (on his player promises, not commercial) still are yet to convince.

One final point under Hughes last season, did you not honestly think making the play offs was the least we should have expected? It was positionally an improvement on previous 3 or 4 seasons but talk about measuring against a low bar! The style (or lack of it) was very painful to watch at times and so stodgy - at least we might be a bit more entertaining this time out.
I really hope your take on things is the one that comes to fruition! ;)

Headley is 2 divisions better than us so no shame being benched for him

Shouldn’t Chapman be ready by now? As far as I know he trained during preseason and isn’t suspended as yet,

Last time Hughes was asked he said it’d be October before Chapman was fully fit.

That seems a hell of a long time for a hamstring injury…8 months.

He did it in April so it’ll be almost 6 months

I think it was a very bad injury. If I recall correctly he had an operation to fix it.

I said yesterday that I wish the FA would hurry up and let him know what his penalty is going to be. It can't be helping his recovery mentally having that hanging over him.

Pretty much 6 months by October. He was sprinting before the Colchester game, think Hughes said he's back in light training. Guessing he said October because there needs to be some training ground matches or friendlies for him and other to get fit, Oliver had a similar time scale quoted to return.

I think he’d struggle to get beyond the bench even when fit? Where would he play?

In his weekly presser, Hughes said 2 possibly 3 more weeks. He's back and active but not match fit.

He had surgery on it, and it will be about 6 months out. I thought he said he would be back in training in September but would need time to get up to match fitness as no pre season.

Fingers crossed a CB and a CF so we can allow Odusina and Osadebe to depart.

That’s not what I asked Park, I never mentioned his quality.

Where would he fit in the current 11 (assumes everyone is available) was my question.

    In place of whom?
