    PL & Championship teams weren't playing under the new rules at mean most games will not finish until at least 2hours after they kicked off. I don't expect any game we play this season to KO at 3pm and the final whistle to go before 5.10 pm at the earliest.

    Yes, I understand that the rule allows a match to be shown to its conclusion, provided the set kick off time is such that it "can reasonably have been expected to finish before the blackout".

    Last time we played these away we were in the home end with no problem at all, knowing I had little chance of getting a ticket I was hoping to do the same this time but having visited their website you have to have been to at least 3 home games last season to purchase a ticket.

    According to Simon Parker the reason for the delayed kick off was that the ref ordered Colchester to change their socks.

    It was 17:06 on my watch, and that was after an unusually short half time break.

    I think planning matches on the basis of a 17:00 to 17:10 (evenings 21:45 to 21:55) finish seems the way to go. Even then, there is a risk they could go beyond those times.

    I'll be on the train, for this one, as far as Lancaster, then there is a decent bus service to / from the ground. Fortunately, there are plenty of trains, for me, from Lancaster after the match, so I won't be worried if the match runs a bit late.

    Tonight is a different matter, however, and so I've opted to drive to Stockport.

    In which case the half time break must have only been 12 minutes including getting off and on the pitch.

    We were back out after 12 minutes, Colchester and the officials a minute later. I doubt we'll see many half time breaks that short this season (unless there is a firm directive to shorten them).
