Well, we haven't come from behind very much but we did today. Fair play to the team. Pulled it back to win.

 

Gordon on the bench for Palace today.

 

Good game. High energy and skill. We are still making errors but hopefully as the confidence comes with more games. Oduor was great and deserved the MOM.

 

Haven't PL teams booked out the first row in every main stand for the subs to sit on this season though?

The pluses
The win
Gillead and Ogeyoke - proper wing backs playing a critical role making a difference. Who'd have thought it eh?
Pattison - genuine energy, forward running and a goal threat from midfield. For the first time in years.
Odour - looked awful in preseason but he's looked much better in our opening games.
Kelly looks solid enough too

The negatives
Hughes in game management still worries me. The subs knocked our momentum off - I still don't know what Osadebe brings but he's 100% not a player you bring on to maintain control. And he still looks far too keen to defend single goal leads.
Lewis - a rare shocker
Defensive shape, first half especially. Smallwood is playing on his own, with a 3 of Walker, Pattison and Odour behind Cook. We look very open and have too much space in front of the defence.
Walker injury - let's hope it's not serious
Cook - thought he was poor today

 

Good win but defence very shaky. And sadly, because I like the lad, we looked much more effective when Walker went off.

 

My thoughts too. I think the recruitment looks decent. I even think the formation looks handy but I hope to god we don't keep taking this approach if sitting on the edge of the box and bringing on the whole defence in the club to hold on to a lead for 20 odd minutes. I think it will cost us if we carry on doing that.

Only preseason game I saw was Middlesbrough. Odour looked very lively in that game.
