Sleep on a bus makes me more tired than staying awake. Then I can't sleep afterwards so I guess a long bus journey affects the quality of sleep for the next few days.

 

Do we have a clean bill of health apart from Chapman now? Hope to see McDonald and Pointon make the 18.

Dont see 2 starting up top just yet. Cook will lead the line supported by Odour and Walker who TBF were the only 2 players in a City shirt that did ok against Crawley.

 

Oduor was terrible on Tuesday though. Perhaps he deserves another chance but I'd much rather see Walker go back in just behind and play Smith up top with Cook.

 

Colchester looked a good outfit last year. Going to be a tough one this.

 

I didn’t see the match Tuesday except for highlights. But I have read a lot of reports and listened to opinions on here and you are the first one to say Oduor was terrible Parker had him MOM

 

Been our best player over the two games IMO

 

At Accy? Wow. Me and you have a massively different opinion on that particular game then.

I thought he was terrible. Never beat a man, looked weak and was pushed off the ball and never put in a decent cross for Cook all game.

He wasn't on his own mind but I thought he was markedly worse than the Crawley game.

 

I'm not a massive fan ATM but I've gotta back him up.
Skinned Whalley 1st half and drew a booking out of him.

 

Yet didn't put in a cross to a city player, get a shot off or create a chance of note. All the things we need from our wingers.

I'm struggling to see what he did that is deserving of man of the match.

As an aside though, can anyone point me to a positive impact he made going forward? For instance, did he create a goal scoring opportunity or even make a half chance for someone?

I genuinely can't think of one.

 

I like these match previews by the voice but come on, Layer Road closed in 2008.

Fair enough. I only listened on the radio on Tuesday so can't comment on that game, but I thought he looked lively in the first game. He needs to settle into the side, much like the other newbies but I think he's stood out with Pattison and the rest haven't shown much yet

He didn’t have a bad game per se. But like @NorthernMonkey said, what did he do to positively impact the game from an attacking perspective.
As a winger, it’s what you do in the final 3rd that matters and I don’t recall him creating much.

 

I agree with Saturdays appraisal, I thought he looked fairly bright but just thought he was off that level in Tuesday.

He certainly has some ability but, like all wingers, he'll be judged on end product.

 

Are you sure you were watching the right player? Constantly beating two or three and got several crosses in.

 

It doesn't matter which player I was watching because the whole team didn't do what you're suggesting, never mind a single player!

 

These are the matches that won't be excused if we drop points.

If we come out of this with a bad performance and only a point or worse going into Stockport & Morecambe away things could be extremely toxic at VP by the Crewe game.
