Scott Banks got 6 in 31 which is better ratio than any of them and that's from wide.
We should be aiming for players of that ilk not ones with worse stats

 

Why? Is beating Halliday a few times the bench mark for wingers that could improve us?

Would we not be better looking at his whole time at Carlisle than 70 minutes at home against a full back who'd had a few poor games and who's form had massively dipped leading up to this one?

 

Halliday along with many that day, was poor.

 

Remember when Edin signed Chicksen because he had a good game against Marshall that one time? Almost like signing players who've had one good game against us is a bad idea.

 

Like any player, I can only judge when I've seen one in action. There is no getting away with it, he was very good that day, especially the first half when we couldn't handle him.

 

Looking at players available, Macauley Bonne is still without a club.
Still only 27, 1 in 3 striker league 1 to National League.
Lyle Taylor, 33. Again a 1 in 3 striker across all the Leagues.
Would take either of them in heartbeat compared to the players being banded about.

 

Bonne has been training with Gills, I think their fans are expecting to sign him

 

Think he’s got one right in Tyler smith & 1 wrong in jack hunt, so 50-50 id be happy with him tbf looked a right handful in second leg was best player on pitch, and can play wide or through middle

 

He might not have got Hunt wrong yet, still not signed for anyone

He also said we were signing Gene Hunt ex Sheff Wed.

 

I can't find any footballer called Gene Hunt, sure you aren't mixing him up with this guy ?

 

I think he might mean Jack Hunt, He's a right back though not the left sided player we need

Well we already have his brother Isaac playing on the left!

 

At least we have seen this one many players get judged on here before anyone has clapped eyes on them. All people are saying is he was very good in that match

 

Tbf are whole fan base wanted Dan agyei based on Crewe game

 

I wanted him because he seemed to fit our system in that he could play all 3 forward roles.

He'd also just hit 17 goals and was available on a free so there were positives about this potential signing even disregarding his performances against us.

 

While I'm not disagreeing with you, alot of players available on loan at Banks' age with his stats will be taken by clubs in higher divisions.

It is worth noting that JK Gordan Is over a year younger than Banks and arguably has more experience than the Banks we signed 12 months ago, so could prove just as good if not a better signing.

It sounds like he did well at Carlisle. Interestingly Paul Simpson says a reason they're not immediately looking at his return is because he sees him more of a no11 than a no9, which doesn't fit Carlisle's system. So it sounds like he'd be better suited in a front 3 rather than a front 2.
