Summer 2023 Transfer Rumours

No we shouldn’t be looking for a wing back, just scrap this system admit it doesn’t work with our current squad and go back to basics with our 4-2-3-1 with more attacking players in the 3. Leeds under Bielsa played 4-2-3-1 and when they attacked there were 3-4 players in the box not just one as we do with Andy Cook on his own.

 

What about the lack of quality in attack? We need 2 more forwards one a winger the other a striker

 

Not as a priority

 

Very much a priority you can make any team solid it’s the creativity and being able to finish that wins games

 

We have goals in the team from midfield Cook and Smith cover for Cook needed but defensively we are weak. That’s the priority

 

For me this has the feel of a couple of years ago when we tried going two seasons without having a proper right back until Halliday appeared.

We're clearly going to play with wing backs yet we seem to be not bothered about signing a left wing back or not able to sign one. Then we choose to play a talented, pacey right wing back as a centre back. It's madness.

 

Would like to see a good wide player. Marcus Maddison no longer available, How long is Chapman out(assuming he is allowed back).

I'd love us to bring Wright back permanently. No chance of happening.

 

Is Bjork behind this thread, it's oh so quiet, in terms of rumours anyhow

 

And then a bit longer when he gets his FA charge.

 

They don't have to wait for him to recover before charging him, get him banned until October

 

November I think.

He did OK against us. Was a bit in and out of games but good pace and tried to make things happen. It'll only take Hughes a match or two to flatten it out of him though...

 

5th in the queue then. If this is one of the summer long targets that we are waiting an answer on, I trust we have other targets as I would imagine Palace will want him to step up a league if they are sending him out on loan.

 

I'd say we are at the back of that queue. Not sure on what Palace would want as he only started 8 games in L2 during his Carlisle spell, who often picked Omari Patrick to start ahead of him, It's not like the lad excelled at this level. Another one of those young forwards that doesn't seem to know if he's a winger or a striker. Got a good record in the Palace U21 team.
