Has anyone in L2 spent that on a player this window???

 

Seems very feasible that MacAnthony would say that, though, especially to a random.

It's good policy, too, if he's transfer listed the lad - make ALL interest open knowledge as soon as possible to try and drum up more interest.

Again, though, £200,000 sounds like FIFA money to me, can't see that at all.

 

Let's call it as it was our home for was poor last season, we turned up in numbers only to be let down by the product on the pitch, fans can't be blamed for making their feeling felt at times.
Hughes made the comments the way we play would be the same as long as he was the manager, yet as I posted he seemed to give the players more freedom after the Gillingham game to make the calls if we played out from the back our occasionally went long, and in doing so got a far better response from the fickle fans.

 

Sorry, Dave, but I can't understand this point that large attendances merit better displays.

We weren't good enough to be dominant at home, or get a top three spot.

The fans didn't deserve better just because there were a lot of them.

Considering some think 200k is too much for Banks, this seems like complete pie in the sky from Posh, (if true).

 

Yes often thought when we leave this world and are sat watching Bradford City at Valley Parade will that be in heaven our hell, you decide .

 

Player seems about right, price tag doesn't seem likely in a million years. I doubt many L2 clubs would even pay half that for a full back with 18 league starts over the last two seasons.

Would be a public one to track if true. Peterboroughs policy of transfer listing every player with 12 months left on their deal means they usually have fairly transparent outgoings.

Yes, wasn't having a go, but there is an idea that if 20,000 turn up they have the right to boo.

I don't understand that at all.

It doesn't matter if 10 turn up, fans shouldn't be booing their team unless they're 4-0 down at half time to Forest Green or something.

 

It was the fickle 16k that I thought was not fair, hence my comment with regards us turning out in number and being let down by the product on the field, maybe I read it wrong.

 

DA has crapped on it. Said 8 teams enquired, not Bradford.

 

Darragh Mac has rubbished the rumour. Says 8 clubs have made enquiries about the player but we aren't one of them.

I dont think £200k seems unreasonable for Tomlinson. He has goals in him for a LB, incredible record at NL tbf.

Its unreasonable for a L2 club mind. But if a top end L1 club like Bolton or Barnsley paid the asking price it wouldnt raise too many eyebrows.

 

It wasn't that they were booing performances though, it was that a young lad such as Critchlow, Lewis or Platt would make a mistake and they would boo and jeer every time they tried to play out as they were told to - they were scared of their own shadows trying to play the ball out after a while because every time they made a mistake the atmosphere became a cauldron. Completely counter-productive. There's a reason every team's tactic is to spoil and wait for the crowd to turn, works like a charm

TBF he said 8 clubs have enquired and none where Bradford. The source could have heard we are interested from our end but we havent made a move yet.

I don’t disagree with your overall post. However, having been extremely angry at losing out on promotion I have calmed and on reflection I think one game at the end of the season cannot be held responsible for our season even though it did reflect what had been happening all season.

Promotion comes from a full seasons work. We had draws at home! Our away record held us together or we would have been mid table or worse. I still don’t understand how a gifted striker all his career wants to put out a defensive team at home. I fully understand why we would do that away. If you want the city faithful to cheer you on at home attack the opposition with all guns blazing. He now has a shiny new season to prove he can do this. No play offs straight forward promotion is the aim.

 

I think Hughes sees out the first few games of the season, then sees what we may need and who is available late August.

For me we need an attacker before anything else im prepared to give Gilli/Oduor a chance at LWB. Ridehalgh isnt up to it imo.
