Smith and Cook looked good in friendly games but Smiths lack of experience could mean Sharp is a good option. Would be a serious drop in pace in the front line, wing backs would need to be covering a lot of ground.

 

If it was a 12 month deal for say 3k a week then I wouldn't be against it, but this is City we are talking about so it would be 3 years on 6k a week, and that I would have a problem with.

 

Agree if it was to happen I would be looking at him coming on front the bench, 2 year deal with that proposition part of the deal he would not be an auto starter, but as we know Cook wasn't going to be a starter until his goals at Barrow and Hartlepool which then made it very difficult for Hughes not to start him.

 

Don’t blame them. How many 30 plus year olds do you want when MH has consistently said more pace

 

Something our fans themselves mentioned many times last season. No doubting Sharp’s pedigree, but imo there must be an up and comer with pace and more potential knocking about for similar money.

Derbyshire's got a tremendous amount to prove.

Either we sign someone on loan who basically takes his place, or he has to prove he was worth the deal he got.
