    Why are some fans obsessed with a “Target man” and asking for one to be signed?

    Yes, we missed one last season when Wyke was injured, but the clue is there. LAST season.

    Since then we’ve signed 14 (FOURTEEN) new players and have a whole new management team. Maybe, just maybe, a target man isn’t needed under this new regime and set up?

    We play a striker who isn’t a target man. Hopefully a Doyle or Sharp, for example.

    If we don’t sign a replacement (or 2) for Wyke it’ll be a huge mistake, but we don’t have to replace a Target man with a Target man.

    Doyle will play that role as he did for chesterfield and Hibs. I don't think we should be after a target man in addition to Doyle
